Brazil builds green 'plastic manufacturing factory'
The factory is located in southern Brazil, which is rated as a ' pioneer factory ' in the field of ethanol production from sugarcane.
' It shows that the world can use ethanol in areas where oil was a unique place before ,' said President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva at the opening ceremony of the factory.

According to Xinhua , the factory is capable of producing 200,000 tons of ' green ' polyethylene plastic a year and consumes about 462 million liters of ethanol per year.
Braskem, the company that owns and operates the plant, said the plant will contribute to the fight against climate change by reducing 2.5 tons of CO2 per ton of plastic produced.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said Brazil has invested $ 16 billion in developing agro-energy technology since 1975 and will continue to invest in this area to protect the environment.
