Cardboard casing camera
The famous IKEA furniture retailer, Sweden, has embraced technology as it launches its line of digital cameras.
Called KNÄPPA , this model is very environmentally friendly because its body is made of cardboard. However, KNÄPPA does not sell widely in the market, which is a promotional gift for IKEA furniture buyers, with the expectation that users will share their furniture images on the internet.

KNÄPPA is the work of Swedish designer Jesper Kouthoofd, which can capture up to 40 photos and use energy through two AA batteries. Once taken full can connect to the computer via USB for processing. This digital camera is a new evolution of IKEA and the consumer electronics industry. IKEA has previously produced entertainment equipment as a home theater. However, IKEA does not have ambition in the digital arena, but only to create unique equipment to enhance the competitiveness of the furniture that is their strength.
Many other companies have been moving toward more environmentally friendly electronic products to meet the needs of the public. For example, Taiwanese computer maker Asus has developed the Ecobook laptops with bamboo shells and recycled plastic components. Another example of eco-friendly electronics is the Samsung Blue Earth smartphone made from recycled plastic shells and a rear-panel solar panel.
In the past, IKEA has also made green initiatives such as installing solar panels in 2011 for its California store and deploying them to 64 other locations.
