A British psychologist had the idea of ​​using old cardboard to make a bed for homeless people in the winter, helping them avoid cold and sleep well.

Elliot Lord is a psychologist, an elementary school teacher. He had experience working for sustainable conservation and life projects in Ecuador, with refugees in northern India, according to the Guardian.

After returning to his hometown, Wolverhampton, he founded the community of Our Own Future, created opportunities for underprivileged people and solved social problems, with solutions that were not costly. too much money or big funding.

Talking to the homeless, Lord found that the biggest problem with them was that it was difficult to sleep in the cold weather, lying on the hard ground causing aching joints. He came up with the idea of making beds from cardboard for them when watching a video that showed how to make cardboard souvenirs for sale.

The beds are modeled, cardboard material is donated from a local bicycle shop. User feedback with the first products is very positive. Although the scale of the project is currently only at Wolverhamton and Birmingham, Lord hopes these designs will be more widely used.

"I contacted someone who worked with Syrian refugees. Although I made this product for homeless people, I always wanted it to be used for refugees. I definitely wanted it. contact refugee groups and centers ".

"With the sample available, you just draw and cut. The job only takes about an hour ," he said.
