Catch huge pythons weighing 100kg
While exploring the rainforest in Guyana, a group of biologists captured a giant South American python weighing 100kg and longer than 5m.
Niall McCann, a 29-year-old biologist from Cardiff (Wales), grabbed the giant South American python as it crawled on the banks of the Rewa River in Guyana. This python has a length of 5.5m, body diameter of 70cm and weighs up to 100kg.
'I have always dreamed of seeing a South American python and I know that our job in Guyana is an opportunity to see this python firsthand. When I found it, I pinned its head to the ground like wrestling , 'Niall recounted.
South American pythons are the heaviest pythons in the world, with a maximum weight of up to 250kg. This python often uses its power to squeeze prey to death before swallowing it. They can attack jaguars and humans.
