Malaysia: Giant python weighs 1 quintal, 10 people cannot catch it

The villagers came from Kampung Kaki Bukit, Malaysia discovered the giant python that was blocking the road but 10 came to help it could not stand.

According to The Star, the python was originally thought to be 10 meters long, weighing 100kg. But the official figure published by Malaysian authorities is 6.1 meters.

Aggressive pythons are not controlled by humans.

Fikri Zulkifli, 27, is the person who discovered the giant python blocking the road, walking home at 3 am. This young man immediately informed his fellow villagers.

A few minutes later, about 10 people were present to catch the python, but they did not manage it because it was too big. The python also appeared aggressive, refused to leave even though it lay on the road.

The villagers then informed the local authorities and the local militia (APM) from the town of Baling in the village.

'We received a telegram at 3:04 and were at the scene 10 minutes later,' said militia member Leftenan Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz.

The local militia force took 30 minutes to control the giant python.

Aziz suggested that the python could walk around the village from a nearby forest to search for food. With tremendous size, it preyes frequently to maintain energy.

'It took us 30 minutes to catch the python because it fought so hard , ' Aziz said.

The python was later handed over to the Malaysian wildlife control agency.

With a length of 6.1 meters, this is considered one of the largest pythons that Malaysians have ever caught.

The current record belongs to a python that is 7.5 meters long and weighs 250kg. Malaysian militia captured this python on April 12, 2016 at a construction site in Paya Terubong, Penang.

The python died after only 3 days in captivity. When caught by humans, it is laying eggs.

According to the Guinness Book of Records, the longest python ever recorded in captivity is Medusa. It is 7.67 meters long, weighs 158.8kg and lives in Kansas City, USA.
