A giant 8m long python found in Malaysia could defeat the previous Guinness world record belonging to a species of the same python named Medusa.

Herme Herisyam, representative of the Malaysian civilian force, who captured the python, said workers at the construction site called them on April 7 and it took 30 minutes to trap the animal."It is 8m long and weighs about 250kg," said Herme.

This giant animal belongs to the python species (or the mesh) because they have the same skin layer as the mesh, living in the waters of Southeast Asia, the length is usually from 3-6m. They are considered the longest python in the world.

Guinness has recognized the longest python in the world is Medusa, also a python species, living in Missouri, USA, being kept in the house called "The Edge of Hell" in Kansas City (USA) . It is 7.67m long, weighs 158.8kg and from 2011 to now, still holds the title.

Before Medusa, another python named Fluffy with a length of 7.3m kept the record of the longest python. In 2010, she died at the age of 18.

However, perhaps the longest python in the world must belong to a 10m long wild python found and shot dead in Indonesia in 1912.
