Catching the 'sea monster' like sea dragons in Russia
Locals call these two 'sea dragons' and advise against eating it.
A Russian fisherman has just caught two " horned" dog fish, worried they are mutated by the fuel in the debris falling from the space rocket.
Two mysterious fish that are Alexey Volkov.
Two mysterious fish caught by 25-year-old Alexey Volkov in Irtysh River, Siberia, Russia. Volkov calls them "sea dragons".
Local people think that radiation or some kind of pollution has caused fish to mutate. They suspect this is a consequence of the fuel in the debris falling from space missiles, launched from Baikonur in neighboring Kazakhstan.
Volkov said the big fish has two "horns" while the smaller one has four "horns".
"I'm impressed with these fish. One weighs 14kg and the other weighs 7kg. They have curved horns towards the tail ," Volkov said.
Volkov calls them "sea dragons".
The anglers warned Volkov not to eat these dogs but he still ate. There are still no problems with Volkov, Daily Mail reported.
After eating, Volkov preserved and dried the fish head, kept in the garage, according to the Siberian Times.
For years, there have been many concerns about the impact of missile debris in the region. Local newspapers have also questioned whether this is the cause of neonatal illness. However, an abandoned chemical plant is also close to where the fish are caught.
Expert Arkady Balushkin, of the Institute of Zoology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, doubts the theory of the people.
Volkov said the big fish has two "horns" while the smaller one has four "horns".
" Any change that occurs under the influence of chemicals or radiation does not cause this new shape," he said.
A dog fish will still be a dog fish. It can develop a tumor or edema, and this is a typical disease of these fish. However, they are believed to have no horns.
To confirm that it is a horned dog and not another fish, I will need to see them with my own eyes. "
