China built a fourth space airport

In order to promote its space programs, China is promoting the construction of the fourth space airport, after nearly 50 years since the first space airport in Gansu province.

On September 24, Xinhua said the new spaceport will be built at Wenchang, in Hainan Island, according to a proposal first made eight years ago.

This is the fourth aerospace airport after nearly 50 years since it had the first aerospace airport in Jiuquan, Gansu province, 1958. Two other space airports were built in Taiyuan in Shanxi province (1967). and Xichang belong to Sichuan province (1970).

The complex is 20 km 2 wide, including a command center, a space airport, a rocket assembly plant, a missile launcher and a space-themed entertainment area.

According to People's Daily Online , previous reports said the project to build the new space airport will be completed in 2010. China's first near-sea space airport will be used to launch guards. Big planet, large space stations and space exploration ships.

In 2003, China successfully launched its first manned spacecraft and became the third country to successfully send people to orbit after the United States and Russia.
