China discovered skull fossils almost completely

The Chinese central media has just announced the most magnificent archaeological discovery since the discovery of the Beijing gibbon. It is an almost complete skull fossil dating back to nearly 100,000 years.

The China Daily reported that the fossil was discovered in Xuchang, Henan province last month after two years of excavation when two archaeologists were preparing to leave the area for Tet holidays. Li Zhanyang, an archaeologist at the Institute of Archeology and Cultural Heritage Henan, said: 'We hope to have more great discoveries.'

This fossil consists of 16 pieces of skull bones with protruding eyebrows and narrow forehead. Li said: 'What's more amazing than the complete skull is the fossilized inner layer. Thus, scientists can test the neural ancestral nervous system. '

Besides the skull, scientists also discovered more than 30,000 animal fossils, including stone and bone relics. The newspaper also reported: 'These skull bones appeared just before archaeologists set out for the New Year's celebration.'

Beijing gibbons were discovered near Beijing around the last 20 century and dated to about 250,000 to 400,000 years.
