This species is called Aorun zhaoi , only about 1 meter long, lived in the late Jurassic period (nearly 161 million years ago).
Aorun zhaoi has many sharp little teeth, very useful for them when hunting and fighting for survival. Researchers suspect they hunt lizards and ancient shrew-like mammals.
According to a team led by James Clark, George Washington University (USA), Aorun zhaoi belongs to the Coelurosaur family - dinosaurs that resemble both birds and lizards and feathers. They also said it was the oldest Coelurosaur fossil ever found.
The research results are published in the Journal of Systematic Paleontology.
