China: Discovering fossils of dragons

Who said dragons are fictional animals that exist only in legend? Since 1996, Chinese archaeologists have found the intact fossil skeleton of a dragon with two sharp horns, the same big and upturned nostrils described in folk tales.

This precious relic was found in the Miao Guan Ling Autonomous County, in the city of Anping, Guizhou Province in 1996, so far still maintaining its original shape with a total of 7.6 meters in length. in which the head is 76 cm long, the neck is 54 cm long, 2.7 meters long and 68 cm wide, the remaining tail is 3.7 meters.

The dragon's head is almost like a triangular cylinder, the corners of the mouth extend up to 43 cm, the widest part is 32 cm wide. Sharp horns rise from the top of the head, each 27 cm long and very well proportioned. They are slightly curved and slightly tilted, looking more like the images described in the legend.

Chinese dragons are considered to be reptiles that lived in the Age of the Earth about 200 million years ago. As amphibians, they live mainly in the water and occasionally shore up. Their food is small fish and reptiles.

This is the first time China has found a fossil dragon with horns. This discovery is an important scientific evidence to help archaeologists find the origin of dragons - an animal thought only in fiction. These fossils are still on display at the Museum of Ancient Fossil Life in Anping City, Guizhou Province.
