China found Cao Cao's grave
Chinese archaeologists claim to have discovered a large tomb thought to be Cao Cao's resting place, a politician and a famous military talent at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
China's central television said the tomb is located in Xigaoxue village, the ancient city of An Duong, Ha Nam province.
At a press conference in Beijing yesterday, Liu Qingzhu - director of the academic committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences - described that the grave has an area of 740 square meters and consists of two compartments. Experts found three coffins containing the body of a six-year-old man (Cao Cao died at 66) and two women. In addition, they discovered an epitaph and an inscription to Cao Cao.
Xinhua reported that more than 250 items made of gold, silver and ceramics were also excavated from the tomb. Mr. Liu added that the archaeologists also dug 59 stone plates engraved with the name and number of objects in the grave, of which 7 records the names of the weapons that "Wei often used". A large number of paintings carved on rocks were also excavated.

In the will before his death, Cao Cao told him that he only needed a simple resting place. Hao Benxing, director of Ha Nam Archaeological Institute, said that the grave that archaeologists found is quite simple, with no walls and the number of objects buried is quite small compared to many emperor tombs. another king. The location of the grave also coincides with the information in the historical documents from Cao Cao's time.
"Although the excavation continues, the evidence we have found proves that the grave is Cao's resting place , " Guan Qiang, director of the Archeology Department of the Office of Cultural Heritage Chinese culture, affirmed.
Guan said the tomb was stolen many times before archaeologists began excavating it in December last year. Police are trying to recover stolen items. Ha Nam provincial government and An Duong city will allow people to visit the grave.
