East Qinling is located in northwestern Shaanxi Province, China has been tightening security since the tomb thieves raided.
According to Global Times quoted local police, grave thieves who were arrested in early October 2010 claimed that they dug a 36-meter tunnel into the center of the tombs and take a large amount of artifacts dating back to 2,000 years. It seems that these tunnels have been created using explosives.
" A tunnel was dug underneath a cotton field that led to the graves. Gloves, cigarette packs and even tomb thieves were left behind in the area. "- Wang Jingzhu, a villager responsible for overseeing the tomb area, said.
When the tunnel was discovered, police surrounded the surrounding area and when grave thieves returned the next day (9/10) they were caught caught. Soon after, the entrance to the crypt was blocked and the local police cut off patrolling the surrounding area every day.
Police have arrested 9 grave thieves and retrieved stolen artifacts. However, the police did not disclose the stolen artifacts.

According to the Chinese press, perhaps if there were no grave thieves, this tomb area was forgotten. Tomb thieves were hesitant to go deep inside because of concerns about not enough oxygen, although according to earlier reports, grave thieves have built the entire tunnel system.
The captured thieves also claimed that their boss forced them into the tunnel. In addition, they claimed that they also found evidence that people before them broke into the tomb.
Dong Tan Lang was discovered in 1986 (12 years after the discovery of the tomb area of Qin Shihuang) and was recognized as a national cultural heritage under special protection. In the years, tombs in this area were constantly attacked by grave thieves.
Dong Tan Lang was built on a 240-hectare plot of land, 56 kilometers from the Tomb of Qin Shihuang, north of Ly Son Mountain, 50 kilometers east of Xi'an. Dong Tan Lang was built in 259-210 BC. This is the resting place of Qin Shihuang's parents and grandparents.
In fact, the tombs in Dong Qin Lang to this day are mostly preserved because they have not been unearthed or have been clearly identified whose tomb belongs to. However, archaeologists and historians believe that there is a large amount of valuable artifacts in the East Qinling area.
