According to the Department of Natural Resources of Yantai City, mines of 50 tons or more are considered super large mines . The discovery of new mines with reserves of more than 300 tons is important. For a long time, gold mining has created jobs for hundreds of workers, raising the average income of local people, as well as increasing the government's tax revenue. There is a ton of gold in China worth about 280 million yuan (nearly 44 million USD).

Yen Dai is known as the "golden city" in China, with the largest gold reserves in the country, which also has the highest gold mining output in the country continuously for 39 years. In particular, the total reserve of unexploited gold mines is about 3,000 tons.

However, the newly discovered giant gold mines are deep in the seabed 2,000 meters, so it cannot be exploited because of limited techniques.

Mr. Lu Tri Giang, representative of Tam Vien geological exploration and exploitation company, said that in South Africa, gold exploitation level has reached exploitation at a depth of 3-4km, while in China, new technology just stop at 1.5km.
