China launches unmanned helicopters can stealth
China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC) has unveiled the AV500W unmanned helicopter at the Fourth China International Helicopter Exhibition, held in Tianjin.
The AV500W has a length of 7.2m , a maximum takeoff weight of 450kg with a top speed of 170km / h and a range of 4,000m. This product was researched and fabricated at the AVIC Helicopter Development and Design Institute (CHRDI) located in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province.
According to CHRDI, the AV500W can carry 120kg of weapons and equipment. Reconnaissance can operate up to 8 hours, while multi-task scouting and combat versions can only operate up to 4 hours.

An armed AV500W usually carries four air-to-ground missiles, using radar-guided navigation technology. Each fruit weighs 8kg and can hit targets 5km away. The AV500W can also carry bombs and machine guns.
CHRDI said the AV500W has high maneuverability, which can be traced to enemy lines thanks to its invisible design. This unmanned helicopter can be used to attack light armored vehicles and infantry.
In addition, the AV500W can be stored and landed on almost any terrain, including flat ground and canyons. It can also operate in cold or tropical environments. AV500W be considered as military helicopters unmanned 'Made in China' on the market first.
CHRDI said it will complete all necessary tests for the AV500W before the end of the year to officially launch mass production in 2018.
