China successfully produced cheap PC

A Chinese technology firm said it has successfully produced a PC model for less than $ 200 thanks to the application of domestic microprocessor chips.

Sina.com - a famous Chinese electronic portal - reported that the new low-cost PC manufactured by Jiangsu Menglong Technology and Technology Co., Ltd only cost US $ 181.

Godson IIE processor chip is the research result of the Institute of Computer Science under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is part of China's cheap PC production project.

The world's most populous country earlier this year announced it had officially embarked on a mass production of the Godson IIE domestic microprocessor chip. This move is expected to help China get closer to the world's leading chip makers in the US and Japan.

Godson IIE chips can work on both Microsoft Windows or Linux operating system platforms. However, industry analysts say that if you use Windows, the cost of a low-cost PC can be pretty high.
