This is the result of cooperation between the Institute of Oceanography and the Center for Biotechnology and the application of Da Nang's scientific and technological progress in the implementation of the project ' Transfer of technical processes for seed production and commercial fish farming. horses for communities living in the coastal areas of Danang . '

Since 2007, households have been able to raise commercial seahorses from zebrafish fish, also known as tiger-tailed seahorses ( Hipppcampus kuda ) with the main food being the paddle group ( Copepoda ). from shrimp ponds or fish farming.

The fingerlings used in this study were imported from Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa; cultured at a density of 50 fish / 60 liter tank. Commercial fish are grown at a density of 30 individuals / 60 liters with natural seawater through purification and complete rearing system as required.

Serving the research topic, Mr. Ngo Van Ri's family, Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district, with the help of the Institute of Oceanography and Da Nang Center for Biotechnology and Science and Technology Application raising and selling commercial zebrafish for export.

Every year Vietnam exports to European countries, the US and China hundreds of thousands of ornamental seahorses and pickled seahorses. Seahorses rearing is a new farming industry in Vietnam and not too difficult, less risky, investment in facilities is not too expensive, stable selling prices, so the profit is quite high.

Successful research will help households living in coastal areas get new jobs, increase income, improve family life, especially for Da Nang, when agricultural land is shrinking. and raising seahorses is suitable for natural conditions here.
