On May 8, the China National Space Agency (CNSA) announced that the country's Chang'e-6 (Chang'e-6) spacecraft had entered a circular orbit around the Moon.

According to CNSA, at 10:12 a.m. on May 8 (Beijing time - 11:12 a.m. on the same day Vietnam time), the Chang Nga-6 ship successfully performed a braking procedure near the Moon, before entering an orbit around the Moon. Moon.

The Thuong Nga-6 spacecraft is responsible for taking samples from the hidden region of the Moon and bringing them back to Earth.

Braking procedures near the Moon are an important orbital control measure for Chang'e-6 during flight. Braking allows the spacecraft to withstand the Moon's gravity and fly around Earth's only natural satellite.

Supported by the Queqiao-2 (Queqiao-2) relay satellite , Chang'e-6 will then adjust the altitude and inclination of the orbit around the Moon, and choose the appropriate time to perform the separate combinations.

The Thuong Nga-6 spacecraft is responsible for taking samples from the hidden area of the Moon and bringing them back to Earth. This is the first time humans have performed this mission in the history of lunar exploration.

According to scientist Wu Weiren, the leader of the team that designed China's lunar exploration program, people currently have very little knowledge about the hidden regions of the Moon . If Chang'e-6 completes its mission, scientists will have the first direct evidence to better understand the environment and physical structure of this area, knowledge that is extremely important. .

The Chang'e-6 spacecraft is a combination of orbiter, lander, ascender and returner. After reaching the Moon, the landing device will help the ship 'softly land' in the dark area. Within 48 hours of landing, a robotic arm will deploy to collect rocks and soil from the Moon's surface and a drill will also be drilled into the planet's surface before analysis begins. science. After the samples are put into the container and sealed, the take-off device will bring the container from the Moon back to pair with the orbiter, from where the return device will bring these samples to Earth, expected Ant landed in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. According to CNSA, this entire process is calculated to take 53 days.

Previously, the Chang'e-5 mission brought back 1,731 grams of material from the Moon to China.
