Cigarette smoke contains chemicals to embalm

Cigarette smoke contains a very high formaldehyde content, a chemical commonly used for embalming.

Master Nguyen Tuan Lam, World Health Organization in Vietnam said that tobacco does not cause hunger like heroin but creates a persistent memory. In cigarette smoke contains more than 7,000 chemicals, including 69 carcinogens. Common substances in smoke such as lead, benzene, especially formaldehyde or formol (substance used to embalm) . These substances, when entered into the body, affect the whole nervous system, blood vessels and endocrine system, causing cardiovascular disease, memory loss and cancer.

According to Master Lam authorities have discovered this embalming substance in vermicelli, noodles . The content of this substance in cigarette smoke is also very high, inhalation harm is no different from eating.

Research shows that at concentrations above 0.1mg / kg of air, breathing in formaldehyde causes irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes, watery eyes, headaches, burning sensation in the throat and difficulty breathing. Exposure to more formaldehyde increases cardiac activity, rapid and shallow breathing, hypothermia, and coma, which can lead to cancer and death.

Smoking causes more than 25 types of diseases, mainly in 4 main groups. Including 12 types of cancer, the most dangerous is lung cancer. 75% of lung cancer is caused by smoking. It also leads to cerebral vascular accident, myocardial infarction, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease . In men, tobacco reduces sperm quality, leading to impotence .

Second-hand smoke contains thousands of chemicals, of which at least 250 cause cancer or toxic substances. Passive smoking is the inhalation of second-hand smoke from a burning cigarette or smoke from a smoker.

According to a World Health Organization study, smoke emitted from a burning cigarette contains 21 times more toxic than exhaled smoke. The amount of smoke that smokers emit is about 5 times higher than the amount of smoke inhaled. Non-smokers who work regularly in smoke-free environments can breathe in the amount of smoke equivalent to smoking 5 things a day. Children who need only one hour in a room with a smoker also absorb toxic chemicals equivalent to those who smoke 10 cigarettes a day.

Second-hand smoke affects 7-10m. So even when very far away from smokers, passive smokers still face the same health risks as those who smoke.

Worldwide, tobacco causes more than 7 million deaths a year, estimated to reach 8 million by 2020, of which 70% will occur in developing countries. In Vietnam, more than 40,000 deaths are caused by tobacco diseases each year. This figure is expected to increase by 70,000 cases in 2030 if Vietnam does not immediately implement effective measures to prevent tobacco harm.

'Many families with loved ones who have cancer, cardiovascular often accept it as obvious, but in fact these diseases can be completely avoided. Up to 1/4 of the non-infectious cases caused by cigarette smoke ', Dr. Lam emphasized.
