It is known that in 2000, Monowi village had two residents: one was Elsie Eiler, the other was Rudy, her husband. However, Mr. Rudy died in 2004.

Buford is an unincorporated community located in Albany County, Wyoming, USA. It is located between Laramie and Cheyenne on Interstate 80. In 2013, there was only one living person, Don Sammons. This man migrated to Buford in 1980 with his wife and son. In 1992, he bought this town. In 1995, Sammons' wife died. His son also left in 2007, making Sammons the only resident of Buford town.

Villa Epecuen, Argentina

In the 1920s, there was a tourist village in Argentina called Villa Epecuen located along the Lago Epecuen saltwater lake - a salt lake second only to the Dead Sea and 10 times higher than the salt in the oceans. In 1993, a flood swept through the village and submerged the entire village in a depth of 10m. Twenty-five years later, when the country receded, the village reappeared but no one dared to return here, except for an 81-year-old man named Pablo Novak - the only resident of the village.
Tomioka, Japan

Tomioka was dubbed a ghost town in Japan due to being located in a polluted area around the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Tomioka was once home to nearly 16,000 people but now only Naoto Matsumura (54) - the only person to return after the horrifying radiation incident in 2011.
