Comet is eaten by the sun
Recently NASA encountered the comet scene Kreutz Sungrazer rushing into the sun like a moth.
Kreutz Sungrazers is thought to be fragments of a large comet exploded in centuries ago, and named after the German astronomer Heinrich Kreutz who first studied and discovered it.
Kreutz features its trajectory flying very close to the sun. The scene of the comet star being "eaten" by the sun recorded by NASA has been popularized on YouTube and astronomical websites and blogs.
Using a Coronagraph device to block the brightest objects in the image, scientists have captured the image of a comet approaching and being swallowed by the sun that the naked eye can see.
The comet approaches the sun on the left and disappears with only the light of its tail.
NASA spokesperson said they gathered footage using Coronagraph, a device that blocks the brightest objects in the image, used to reproduce a "false solar eclipse", which could help astronomers Observe the activity around the sun with the naked eye.
Since 1995, hundreds of Kreutz comets were discovered and plunged into the sun one after another in the space. Experts say a new cluster of Kreutz comets will approach the sun in the next few decades, promising more spectacular images.
