Conflict of interest
With a heavy business model for online games today, tens of millions of dollars of revenue from online game businesses are too small compared to the huge losses that Vietnamese families are suffering.
According to press sources, revenue from online games in Vietnam next year will reach 15 million USD. Not sure whether this number is true, because another argument "threatens" that, if it hinders playing in the country, people flock to play outside the country, losing 120 million USD / year.
How many people every day, every night and every night are in the online gaming world? Regarding this number, the numbers are very different, but according to the number, there are millions of registered accounts and the number of people who are really regular accounts for a large number of those accounts.
No enterprise, even enterprises, complained that it was difficult, that there was no interest, and left this item. In contrast, the competition is getting hotter, more than a dozen games have been launched and many other games are being planned.
Numerous articles on the internet and in newspapers, including on some television channels (usually electronic networks, newspapers and channels of game business units) are dedicated to introducing and promoting each game. There is another talk about a certain student by playing a game that is super good at foreign languages! There was another article about Mr. Tay because he dropped out of school to play a game, but now it has become a tremendous success! These "mirrors", which may be real, "are good are good," but at this particular time it sounds like an advertisement and an excuse.
While there are many problems in our e-commerce transactions, from the beginning, the rights of gamers are cared for wholeheartedly, including the legal protection for "virtual property", ie the amount of money won by Gaming, has been posed and promoted by businessmen. In short, we are seeing a normal phenomenon of a market economy: One part - this is online game businesses - has great benefits and they are trying to increase their benefits. To get that, of course they try to serve customers very carefully.
Who is the customer? Millions of families have been or are about to die from the online game addiction of "nobles" - the main customers of the online game business group. How many children - who are often the smartest children - become innocent after hours, the days and nights of immersing themselves in the online gaming world. The boys - who used to be very diligent and diligent - now lurked out of the classroom, leaving home to play places.
I don't know how many fathers and mothers go crazy to find me in the middle of the night. Someone must ask the computer specialist to look up the nickname of the boy present at the coordinates to come back. Some people have to keep their children at home, they also take time off from work to guard, in the hope of "detox" for their children. I'm not talking about stealing my parents' money, let alone studying results. Not even repeating the fact that there were "missing" schoolboys for several days. Not to mention the other boys fainting on the computer desk. Or abroad (fortunately, not yet in Vietnam), some people "who are sacrificing sacrifices" after dozens of hours forget to eat, forget to sleep and play online games!
Millions of these fathers and mothers and their children's teachers are another benefit group. They want their children, their students not addicted, not ravaged in health, spirit and physical. Their benefits are just so simple. And they have the right to have that natural benefit.
Not all entrepreneurs who are running online games don't see this. But there is the fact that they see their benefits closer, even though millions of fathers and mothers are not far away from them at all!
Of course, I know there are many useful and even useful games to create thinking skills and life skills for the younger generation. The entertainment is nothing but nothing good. That's why no one has put the issue of banning online games. But this business must be accompanied by strict conditions and procedures to limit its reverse. As for the current style, the tens of millions of dollars in revenue are too small compared to the huge losses that Vietnamese families are suffering.
I also heard the argument: The provision of games is my job, and the family must guide the children to play for moderation! Or "more eloquent": Must believe in young people, they will know how to select and control, they will be more brave, adults think . I can agree with those arguments. But when I agreed, I still had to do what I was doing: lock my computer at home, keep track of my children 's travel time and scour the gaming spots when you lost shape .
We have also read a few words of "utter warning" that: If you restrict online game hours provided by local companies, players will switch to playing foreign games . This risk may be possible but it cannot be a reason for no measures to limit the playing time of domestic games. I also know that in China, where the sales of online games in 2005 were $ 480 million, people were still determined not to benefit from such benefits but loosened up the rules to limit playing hours.
Please: With the current style of online game business, my interests and people like me are in conflict with your interests - online game dealers! In other ways it is possible to get along. And of course, the person who stands out to handle this conflict of interest is the State.
The state has made necessary regulations. Circular 60 (Inter-ministerial) requires traders to meet the necessary conditions to continue online game business, including regulations on technical methods to limit playing hours. The strange (or not strange?) Thing is that people institute many reasons to be in no hurry to meet the requirements of that circular.
Businesses acknowledge that: Once the business interests conflict with the interests of a large number of people in society, it is not a successful business. But the benefits are still benefits, so from understanding to doing is still a gap. I think, enterprises soon introduced a solution to limit play time, following the path to sustainable business development, according to which the interests of business people are in line with the interests of many people in society. .
The match between management agencies and online game traders has not come to an end. But that end must have!
