Crocodile throws prey like toys
The crocodile gnawed on the hippopotamus, tossed it high up and threw it into the water several times before sparing its prey to another place.
The prey of the swamp assassin is recorded in Kruger Park, South Africa.
Big crocodiles appear suddenly from the surface of the water approaching a hippopotamus and then grab the tail of the prey.
Detached from the herd, hippopotamus was quickly caught in the continuous attack of crocodiles. With a length of about 4m and body size many times larger than hippopotamus, crocodiles begin the "juggling" prey on the water.
After pinning the hippopotamus in sharp teeth, alligators swung their prey up high, tossing and digging into the water.
"I have seen crocodiles catch prey before, but have never seen the play with prey like this time," Roland Ross, who recorded this attack, said.
According to Ross, after about 25 minutes, alligators carry their prey, dive into the water and disappear.
