Detect the grave of the female husband Doan Thi Diem's ​​husband

The Vietnamese archaeological team recently completed excavation of a grave site believed to belong to Dr. Nguyen Kieu, husband of female doctor Doan Thi Diem, and will be buried near his wife.

Permitted by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Archaeological Association in coordination with the Hanoi Authority for relics and landscapes to excavate the tomb of Nguyen Kieu in Vuon Dao area, Phu Thuong ward. , Tay Ho, Hanoi.

On the afternoon of July 27, after four days of excavation work, the archaeological team completed the excavation of Dr. Nguyen Kieu's tomb. Dr. Nguyen Lan Cuong, the leader of the mission, said that during the excavation of the grave, the land revealed the vestiges of Nguyen Kieu about 25cm deep from the bottom of the grave. At the same time, the archaeological team also found two more antiques including a jar placed on a bowl, this bowl broke into pieces, inside the jar there was only water and mud.

Dr. Cuong said that these are two antiquities dating back to the Nguyen Dynasty. The archaeological team also discovered a black ground, a bone, and a wooden board.

" The possibility of up to 90% of this is Nguyen Kieu grave. This tomb was still worshiped by the Nguyen family for hundreds of years, at the tomb there is a stele recorded as built in 1931, with full name and year of death. Dr. Nguyen Kieu ", Dr. Cuong affirmed.

In addition, the archaeological team also discovered another grave next to the remains of Nguyen Kieu, with a larger area, also had bone and wood planks but not related to Kieu's remains. Mr. Cuong said, this tomb was buried before Kieu's grave was built.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Son, the 9th descendant of Kieu, suspected that this is a fake grave and " Kieu's remains " are not bones but bamboo sticks.

"From the ground to the surface of Kieu's remains, it is not so shallow. In the family lineage of the lineage, for over 200 years, this land has not had any graves built, so it could be due to the old tools used to make fake tombs, "said Ms Son.

Ms. Son said, before her eyes and her family will sign to receive procedures and bring her to the relics area of ​​Doan Thi Diem. " But the family has not given up on searching for Nguyen Kieu grave ."

Before the doubts of Mrs. Son, Dr. Nguyen Lan Cuong said that, after several hundred years, the bamboo stick, if any, had rotted, and he asserted that it was the bones. " The grave and the stele are clearly named, the date is lost, and the five months of the grave are clear. This remains in the right position from the top of the grave, and the bone and wood planks are discovered. clearly show that this is Nguyen Kieu's grave ".

In 2005, Nguyen Lan Cuong unearthed a grave that was thought to be the grave of Kieu, but the remains of the grave indicate that it was not the grave of Kieu.

The archaeological team will transfer all the black land, put it in a silver-covered cottage, and the family members will organize the burial tools next to the grave of female doctor Doan Thi Diem.
