Sa Huynh culture was formed in 1,000 BC, is one of the three ancient cradles of civilization in Vietnam.

According to Dr. Doan Ngoc Khoi, Sa Huynh Culture on Ly Son Island formed from the inland flow of culture in two districts of Duc Pho and Binh Son. So far, the site of this culture has been discovered in Oc and Suoi Chieng Hamlets, dating from the 5th century BC to the second century.

In particular, Chieng stream is a freshwater stream originating from the foot of Thoi Loi mountain flowing to the sea. The community of ancient Sa Huynh chose a place at the foot of the mountain and near fresh water to live, exploiting abundant sources of seafood from the sea and mountain food sources.

In 2000 and 2005, the Institute of Archeology collaborated with Quang Ngai Department of Culture to organize excavation of this site. This year, the Ministry of Culture continued to allow Quang Ngai Department of Culture to excavate and preserve, associated with the Ly Son - Sa Huynh Global Geopark.

"On Ly Son island, which is characterized by island and sea, Suoi Kinh location needs to be protected and recognized at provincial and national relics and excavated, preserved and displayed on site to serve tourism development." Dr. Khoi proposed.
