This ancient plant species has the scientific name Trigonobalanus verticillata Forman, belonging to the genus Trigonobalanus - the genus of plants has the lowest level of evolution in their limbs.

The three-sided oak has very different external characteristics of the tree species and the access of scientists to this species is very rare. In the world, new three-sided oak was discovered in Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.

Within a radius of 50m in an area of Hon Giao Mountain at an altitude of over 1,450m, there are nearly 20 three-sided Oak trees with an average height of about 20 m, a diameter of 50 - 70cm.

Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park also has other rare and precious plant species: Pine two flattened leaves, Pine 5 leaves and Fokienia, Oak three edges. This is the place with the most diverse biological resources in our country and is one of the 200 endemic bird centers of the world.
