Detecting fake pictures by phone

Information technology experts of the Czech Republic have created a new phone application that can detect paintings as well as fake art works.

The application called Oneprove will scan details on the original painting surface to create a digital passport. With this digital passport, the software will verify what is fake and true.

To use Oneprove application, people just need to install on a smartphone, then take a picture of the picture to be checked. The application will quickly scan its database of original paintings and then indicate whether the artwork needs to be verified as fake or real.

'We use smartphones to take pictures of the pictures. From this "scanner" we can create something called digital passport. After analysis we will verify the result, in this way, we can protect the original work. This application works based on analyzing the surface structure of the painting, just as each person's fingerprints are different, the canvas also has a different structure and different surface ' , said Marvan Shamma, Oneprove application co-inventor, said.

Oneprove will analyze the surface structure of the painting to verify the picture is fake or real.

This new system promises to be a great supporter of museum preservation staff, art dealers and even art lovers.

'Making fake artworks is very easy today. One can copy it accurately to every detail, and then repaint it into real works. Therefore, the art world and art-related business have long been waiting for the support of this new technology as well as the support of artificial intelligence, 'said Eva Kocova, owner of a gallery. said.

Not only does it stop verifying fake or true paintings, Oneprove software experts also hope to further develop future applications to determine each artist's style.

'In the future we will be able to identify artists by style, color and type of painting. Then we won't need the database of original works anymore. We just need to determine the style of the artist that we can identify the real or fake works , 'said Jan Habis, application co-inventor Oneprove.

When buying a picture, buyers often go to experts or the world, to ask for verification. And with Oneprove application, experts will have a stronger basis to distinguish fake or true paintings.

In the world, the most famous celebrity in the 20th century in painting is Wolfgang Beltracchi, the German. The fake paintings of " Wolfgang Beltracchi " of the century's masquerade are judged to be unbelievably authentic. Wolfgang Beltracchi confirmed that there was no painting in the world that he could not copy the painting style.

Leading experts in painting appraisals often confuse Beltracchi's fake paintings and original paintings by artists.

The fake paintings bring to the scammers huge amounts of money.

Along with his wife, Beltracchi collected millions of dollars from fake paintings. After every scam of the couple, Helene 'laundered' money by 'incurating' the money into an asset inherited from the rich grandfather.

But then the carelessness eventually caused Beltracchi to fall. In the painting that lost a 1914 painting by Heinrich Campendonk, Beltracchi used titanium white while Campendonk painted it, the world was not yet titanium white. In 2011, Beltracchi was sentenced to six years in prison, and his wife was sentenced to four years in prison.
