'Selfie' is about to become the old fashioned, and now it's time for 'dronie' , or self-portraits with a flying camera , according to Red Orbit.
Photojojo's photographer, Amit Gupta, has been experimenting with new photos for the past few months and recently published results with self-portraits that could not be better.
Gupta and New York Times technology columnist Nick Bilton used the DJI Phantom flying machine to take photographs of this image at the top of Bernal Hill in San Francisco.
For impressive visuals, they activate the GPS sensor of the flight device before takeoff, allowing the DJI Phantom to determine the location of the photographer in the air.
According to Bilton, control the landing gear in front of the subject for about 10 seconds, then adjust it back and focus, then try shooting several times until the best photo.
