Prometheus was a descendant of the Titans and also a prophet. Therefore, when he knew about the defeat of Cronos's side, Prometheus wisely sided with Zeus and avoided the fate of being imprisoned. However, later, he was punished by Zeus, tied to a large rock, and let the eagle peck out his liver every day. The reason was because Prometheus dared to steal fire for mankind.
