Most are fossil whale fossils about 8m long. There are also remains of an extinct dolphin that was discovered in Peru before.

However, what made the scientists most confused when they discovered this graveyard was making nearly 100 prehistoric whales, and expected to discover even more, most of them. The size of a bus, died at the corner of the Atacama Desert in Chile.

According to the researchers' guess, it is possible that these whales have gathered in a bay of water and earthquakes have made this bay isolated from the ocean, dried up over time and made whales Ancient trapped to death; or maybe because of a big storm brought the whales to shore and left it.

Now researchers are looking for more evidence to confirm their hypotheses.
