Detecting lonely genes
A recent study by American scientists has partly answered the question of why people who are lonely are more likely to get sick and may die earlier than others.
University of California molecular biology professor Steve Cole used an electronic circuit to observe the DNA of lonely people and found that these people had different types of gene activity than normal people.
A total of 22,000 human genes have been studied and compared; 209 genes were found unusually in lonely people. Most of these genes are involved in the immune system and the production of antibodies.
However, scientists do not firmly assert one of the two interpretations: Loneliness has caused changes in the body, or vice versa, it is these physical characteristics that make him The tendency to self-isolate.
