The archaeological team from Université libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) discovered the tomb in front of the Temple of Pachacamac. The amazing thing is that it is almost intact despite the destruction and looting of colonial invaders.

According to experts, more than a dozen babies and young children were buried around the perimeter, with their heads facing the tomb. The main room is divided into two parts, separated by a mud brick wall, which acts as a burial ground for many other corpses.

Inside the crypt chamber rooms, the archaeological group found the remains of more than 70 skeletons and mummies, all in a fetal characteristic.

Burial services include people of both genders and different ages. They are often buried with sacrifices such as pots, ceramic pots, dogs, guinea pigs, gold alloy artifacts - copper and wood paint masks.

"The rate of adults / children is buried in this grave is unusually high ," said Discovery, quoted archaeologist Peter Eeckhout, who has been studying at Pachacamac archaeological site for the past 20 years . Currently, we have two hypotheses: This is a human sacrifice activity, or a process of gathering the bodies of children who die from natural causes, storing them until decomposing in the grave because of dense certain points'.
