On the third day of an archaeological exploration to find traces of King Quang Trung's tomb, experts discovered a strange layer of soil and rock as the foundation of an architectural work.

On October 9, experts from the Institute of Archeology and Thua Thien - Hue History Museum continued to explore at three excavations at people's houses, Van Phuoc Pagoda in Truong An Ward, Hue City - where the suspect is found. vestige of Duong Xuan palace, Dan Duong palace and the burial place of King Quang Trung.

At the third archaeological hole at Mr. Nguyen Huu Oanh's house, the survey team dug into a strange soil with signs different from other soil layers, located at a depth of about 0.5m. It is observed that this is a sandy gravel layer different from the normal soil next to it that is related to an architectural work. This soil is located in half of the archaeological basin with white-yellow color like the mark of sand and gravel. This strange layer is still preserved, and the soil next to it is dug further.

At the second archaeological hole in front of Van Phuoc Pagoda yard, a piece of artifact like a curved blade of a short sword was dug. Many ceramic tiles and flakes, some pieces of earthenware can dig a lot in 3 holes.

It is expected that in the following days, archaeological experts will dig two more holes at the Boat Lam Pagoda in a total of 5 holes agreed by the Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism. These holes will dig to the original soil fertility layer to consider and search for artifacts for archeology. Previously, in two days of archaeological exploration, experts seized many artifacts to serve research.

As PV reported, on October 6, the Institute of Archeology and Thua Thien - Hue History Museum announced the decision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on archaeological exploration in the area of ​​Duong Xuan mound, Truong Ward. An aimed to find research materials for the hypothesis of Duong Xuan government, Dan Duong power and then Dan Lang - the place where King Quang Trung was buried.

This hypothesis was coined by Mr. Nguyen Dac Xuan after more than 30 years of searching for domestic and foreign historical and literature materials as well as many fieldworkings.

Expected archaeological exploration this time will last until October 15.
