Digging soil to detect a 1000 year old god statue

Pho statue of Visnu, which appeared in the ninth century to the 10th century, was discovered by a man behind the garden while digging banana soil.

The statue was found by the people in the garden while digging bananas.

Dong Thap Museum said that it had just received the statue of the god Visnu discovered by a villager when digging banana land in Binh Phu commune (Tan Hong district).

According to the Dong Thap Museum, a stone statue weighing 23.1kg, height 83cm and width 26cm, was identified as the statue of Visnu, which appeared around the 9th century to the 10th century AD.

This statue was handed over to Mr. Le Van Mua (48 years old, living in Cong Tao hamlet, Binh Phu commune, Tan Hong district) when he discovered the back of the garden while digging banana soil.

Currently, Dong Thap Museum is completing the procedures to request the Provincial People's Committee to give the Certificate of Merit to Mr. Le Van Mua for voluntarily handing over the statue to the State for management according to regulations.

The title has been changed.
