Discover equipment that helps families turn domestic waste into energy

'Taking advantage of domestic waste to become a source of energy for the family's daily hot water needs' this great recycling idea belongs to the British inventor - Nik Spencer.

Specifically, the method the inventor uses is the "Home Energy Resources Unit" (HERU) - a machine that converts waste into burning fuel , to produce energy. The input material of this machine is almost everything that every family takes away every day: organic garbage, plastic, broken food or even baby diapers.

After filling up the garbage, the machine will perform a cycle consisting of three main steps:

  1. Step 1 . Material drying: In this step, the waste materials will evaporate moisture products they have to a minimum.
  2. Step 2 . Pyrolysis: At this time the material will be decomposed and then continue to be converted into fuel.
  3. Step 3 . Burning: The amount of fuel produced after the pyrolysis process will be burnt to form an energy source.

It is known that with the current HERU product, the energy generated from garbage will only serve the sole purpose of heating water to bathe.

It is estimated that a household generates about 2kg of domestic waste every day. And with Nik Spencer 's recycling engine, these scraps will be able to serve 44% of their hot water needs.

The HERU product is now the fifth test version of Spencer. The inventor hopes that, by 2020, he will be able to launch a commercial version of HERU with an estimated selling price of about 5,360 USD.
