Rare exotic salamanders occur in Florida (USA).

The researchers identified it as one of the most bizarre creatures ever encountered. This salamander species was named Siren reticulata .

Like other members of the salamander family, the newly discovered salamander is about 61cm long. But it has a body more like an eel than a salamander and has only one pair of front legs. Siren reticulata on me also has leopard-like spots.

Although classified as amphibians, scientists discovered that it mainly lives under water.

The last time this creature was caught was in the 1970s and 1975s. Since then it has been completely isolated.

Local people are completely unaware that this is a special salamander species. In the local community, it is still called the ' eel leopard'.

Currently, scientists continue to study this unique and extremely rare species.
