Located in the Indian city of Jodhpur, the Mehrangarh fort was built in the 15th century, one of the largest ancient forts in the world. History records that Rao Jodha - the 15th king of the Rathore dynasty decided to build the Mehrangarh fortress when he moved the capital to Jodhpur.

Legend has it that the foundation of the fortress was built by him before and for a long time became the habitat of the birds under the care of the hermit Cheeria Nathji . To build the fortress, King Jodha decided to evict the hermit. Enraged by the king's actions, Nathji released a dark curse that Jodha's fortress would not be able to survive due to an unprecedented drought.

In order to dispel the curse, in addition to building a temple near the hermit who once inhabited, King Jodha thought of a cruel way of burying a man named Rajiya Bambi under the foundation of the fortress, in exchange is a promise to care for his family. The old curse seems to have been dissolved and the Mehrangarh fortress has spent many reigning and intact kings until today.

Today, this massive fortress is located on a hill over 100m high, surrounded by 36m high walls and 21m wide. Inside the walls of the fortress's impenetrable fortress were the centuries-old space of Rathore dynasty - the ruler of Mandore.

The entrance to the Mehrangarh fortress is extremely impressive with all seven massive gates built by monk Maharaja Man Singh. As you pass through the gates, you will encounter a series of beautiful buildings built in history that last more than 5 centuries of the fort.

The main buildings in the fortress are the royal palace, the court and many houses with elaborate carved architecture, decorated with sophisticated decorative motifs.
