There will be a 'fortress' to clean up the universe

Russia is raising the idea of building a laser fortress with the goal of clearing up waste in space.

According to the Daily Mail, Russia is building a Death Ray fortress that can watch and destroy many targets in space.

This weapon can be as large as a telescope, operating on the basis of the power of a laser.

Scientists plan to convert an area planned to build an observatory into a " fortress " , 70km from the Kazakhstan border.

Currently scientists from the Russian space agency, ROSCOSMOS, began studying this historic fortress. Although the team has yet to agree on which designs to use, the group agrees to use solid lasers as a secret weapon.

Before Russia announced the project, a US Air Force general warned that space war could break out among future superpowers.

However, the Russian side believed that this fortress was only used to disrupt space debris that could damage the country's spacecraft.

According to the US Space Observation Network, there are currently about 21,000 spatial waste samples of more than 10cm in diameter that are "hovering" around the Earth.

These objects include the discarded parts of the engine when launching a ship, old equipment or spacecraft, as well as other types of waste.

Scientists from ROSCOMOS said that if the problem of cosmic waste is not resolved early, in the future they will hinder in the Earth's orbit. If waste is growing, things will get worse, spacecraft will not be able to launch into space.
