Li Lei, 26, lives in Dan Phuong District, Shaanxi Province. Li discovered bronze sword in clay slabs. It is 46.5cm long, 4cm wide and weighs about 0.61kg.

According to archaeologist Lu Qinghe, the sword dates back more than 3,000 years, belonging to the Zhou Dynasty. Ironwork and the use of iron began to appear in China during this period.

Shanghaiist quoted Li as saying that some people offered a price of 100,000 yuan (more than $ 16,000) to buy the sword, but he refused and gave it back to the cultural heritage agency. Li was awarded a certificate and a bonus of 500 yuan (about 80 USD).
