Discovered a mysterious drawing in an ancient book of 500 years old

Under hyper-spectral technology, images hidden beneath 500-year-old book pages appear unexpectedly.

An old record book, also called Selden Ancient Letter from Mixtec City, Anute Province is one of the 5 remaining artifacts in the area, in the southern state of Oaxaca. There has long been a theory that there is a hidden message under the book currently stored at the Bodleian Library, Oxford University (UK).

By super-spectral remote sensing technology, researchers have been able to see unique images for the first time.

Pages 10 and 11 of Ancient Selden.Above is an image seen with the naked eye, below is a picture hidden under the chalk and glue that is scanned by ultra-universal technology.

"I wanted to scream when I saw them. After learning many ways, I finally discovered the message hidden behind without harming the artifacts," Ludo Snijders from Leiden University, a research group member. rescue said.

This is a pretty important finding because the painting is pre-colonial style , while the text above it has European influence. So it was previously thought that Selden was made in 1560, 50 after the Spanish colonial came here, but in fact it was much older.

However, it is difficult to understand what this document means because the new scanning technology only shows red and yellow parts. The remaining coal layer still covered up quite a lot. The most visible image is two dagger symbols and ropes.

It seems that this dagger-rope character plays an important role in ancient Mixtec society . The stock is the same as a history, so it could be a priest or a king, though it is unlikely that these symbols should mention the same person.

According to Snijders, this book is so detailed that it is possible to outline the geopolitics of Mixtec in ancient times. The other is the symbol of 20 people sitting and standing, face standing in one direction while there is a group holding sticks, spears and red-haired women. Currently the research team is still reviewing, it is likely that there are many more pages.

It is unclear why this text is hidden, but it is more likely that this is an underground historical account that tells the life after the brutality of the invaders. The text layer above was destroyed by the colonial faction.

Previously, conventional scanning methods did not work because the ancient people used biological paint materials. David Howell, head of the Bodlean Heritage Group, commented that this stock is unique and therefore the only product that exists in a culture.
