Discovered a new crustacean in the Pacific
The French Institute for Development Research (IRD) has said it has discovered in the Pacific ocean of Corail a new crustacean named Neoglyphea neocaledonica , which is considered a "living fossil" dating from about 50 million years.
This crustacean looks like a Norwegian lobster and the glypheid crustacean is extinct during the Eocene period at the end of the Middle Age. Another glypheid crustacean named Neoglyphea inopinata was caught in 1908 off the Philippines and identified in 1975.

The IRD Institute's Alis has caught this animal 400 meters deep in the sea off the Chesterfield Islands. The researchers noted that it was 'agile, aggressive and using a fake clip to attack'. This newly discovered crustacean is pink in color with bright red spots, large eyes, a short, fat body.
