Recently, archaeologists have discovered a mummy dating back more than 1,000 years at the Puruchuco relic, capital of Lima, Peru. This mummy is defined as a baby who lived before the Inca period.

Another mummy of children was discovered on the side of a hill in Peru.
Puruchuco is the largest Inca cemetery in the world ever excavated. In the past 60 years, archaeologists have only touched 10% of the ruins but have found a total of 2,000 mummies , ceramics, hundreds of textile pieces and copper, silver and gold coins. .
The baby mummy this time was found in a topographical survey to build a new road by the Peruvian Government. Also here, archaeologists have found dozens of other mummies in the complex including 26 graves of both adults and children.
According to Guillermo Cock, an archaeologist in the research group, so far 40 mummies have been found and the number will continue to increase . And despite long-standing existence, the mummies of the Incas are still in good condition. Typically in early 2015, a mummy was discovered even intact on one eye.
After being excavated, the baby mummy was quickly transferred to the museum to preserve and facilitate research.
In recent years there have been thousands of corpses discovered in Peru. One of the most famous mummies ever found was 'Juanita Ice Maiden' , a girl preserved in ice on a mountain.
