Disseminate space technology knowledge at Nha Trang Observatory

Information from leaders of Vietnam Space Center (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) said that Nha Trang Observatory is urgently coordinating with domestic and foreign units to deploy training to promote push common knowledge activities on space science and technology to serve the community.

Going into operation in September, Nha Trang Observatory is located at Hon Chong (Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa) which is one of two observatories built in the framework of Vietnam Space Center project. The second observatory is under construction at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (Hanoi) and is expected to be operational by 2018.

According to the representative of Vietnam Space Center, after coming into operation, Nha Trang Observatory had a number of screenings of authentic movies with the space projection house. In addition, visitors can visit and witness the operation of the largest 0.5m diameter telescope in Vietnam today.

Notably, the Vietnam team participating in the 2017 International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad was trained for 1 week at Dai before leaving for Thailand to take the exam. In this competition, the Vietnamese team has excellently won 2 silver medals and 2 consolation prizes.

'Currently, there is no modern observatory in the whole country, the scale for scientific research has not had any space projection house to disseminate and disseminate knowledge about space science to the younger generation , stimulate their passion. Therefore, putting the Nha Trang Observatory into operation will be an important start for the young generation to understand about space science and formulate a passion for this field, ' said Associate Professor and Doctor Pham Anh Tuan. , Director of Vietnam Space Center said.
