Dragon spacecraft carries nearly 2.5 tons of food, necessities and many scientific materials, including 3D printers and 20 experimental mice, for crews on ISS. It is expected that Dragon will stay in ISS for 4 weeks. Previously, SpaceX planned to carry out this shipment on September 20, but it was postponed due to weather conditions not allowed.

Dragon was taken to ISS by Falcon 9 boosters in the early morning of September 21 local time at Cape Canaveral Air Base, Florida state. After being released about 10 minutes, Dragon went into orbit and successfully connected with ISS on September 23.

The supply of ISS materials and equipment mentioned above is part of a contract worth $ 1.6 billion that SpaceX signed with NASA. As planned, SpaceX will conduct a total of 12 shipments for ISS with Dragon cargo ships. In addition to SpaceX, NASA also signed contracts with other private companies "Orbital Sciences Corp" to ship products to ISS.

SpaceX was founded in 2002, owned by Internet billionaire Elon Musk. SpaceX's successful May 2012 test flight marked the first time a spacecraft of a private group approached ISS.
