This is the shocking conclusion of a study published in the journal of the American Medical Association on November 1.

Researchers at Harvard Medical School and Brigham Women's Hospital conducted a survey of nearly 106,000 women about the health status and the amount of alcohol they consumed during the period of 1980-2008.

The results showed that the risk of breast cancer in women who only drank 3-6 drinks per week was 15% higher than women who did not use alcohol. Meanwhile, this rate for those who drink an average of 2 wine glasses per day is up to 51%.

The study also found that the risk of breast cancer among women who drank alcohol from a young age and women who drank alcohol after age 40 was the same. In particular, in these subjects, there is no evidence that stopping the use of alcoholic beverages may reduce the risk of breast cancer. However, experts suggest that you can drink a little red wine because this is good for your health.

Breast cancer is the most common and leading cause of cancer in women, especially in developed countries like the US and Europe. Until now, the cause of the increased risk of this disease is still unknown, but there are many theories that may be due to increased sex hormones in the female body after drinking alcohol.
