Earth catches strange radio signal flashing from the 'monster' black hole

The Japanese team of scientists discovered a peculiar radio signal that they thought came from the center of the galaxy containing the Milky Way Earth.

It is a strong , continuous flickering radio (radio) wave that scientists from Keio University (Japan) believe have been around for a long time, but have received little attention. In addition, the detection of extraterrestrial signals is often hampered by human engineering. Today, with the modern Atacama Large Millimeter / submillimeter Array (ALMA), they are able to capture it clearly.

According to the new paper published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, the source of the aforementioned signal is the black hole "monster" Sagittarius A * in the center of the Milky Way - the galaxy containing the Earth. This has lifted the mysterious veil of unimaginable chaos in the mysterious region of our galaxy's "heart".

According to Professor Tomoharu Oka, who led the research, this strange radio wave comes from the rapid and dizzy gas rotation around the black hole and it is this fast speed that makes it very difficult to observe. Whenever this accretion disk flared, radio waves were emitted, continuously flashing.

Thanks to ALMA, they gathered high quality data on this variation in radio frequency intensity for 10 days, 70 minutes a day.

Scientists are still working on strange signals, because they are a rare and important clue to understanding strange, unknown, cosmic activities at the center of our galaxy.
