A new study warns that greenhouse gas emissions will cause severe drought in large areas of the Earth over the next 30 years.

" We are facing widespread drought in the next few decades, but this issue has not been fully realized by the public and the research community of climate change ," AFP quoted the home as saying. Aiguo Dai science, American Atmospheric Research Center (NCAR).

NCAR - a multi-area on-field research unit of the United States, the western hemisphere and most of Africa could suffer unprecedented drought in modern history.

Latin America, many parts of Asia and even the Mediterranean will experience severe droughts if greenhouse gas emissions are not cut.

Meanwhile in the Amazon, Brazil basin, a worst-case drought since 1963 is threatening the lives of thousands of people in the region.

According to euronews.net, at least 38 regions in the region have issued emergency statements due to drought affecting livestock, agriculture and trade. Local fishermen are also miserable because the water level is so low that they cannot go fishing. Many boats ran aground, and there were many accidents due to low river water.

Greenpeace activists warn that this drought situation will occur more frequently in the future due to climate change.
