The Australian Kangaroo Protection Association seeks to bring the case to the Australian Supreme Court to prevent hunting of kangaroo in Epping. According to the organization, the Economic, Employment, Transport and Resources Development Agency started firing kangaroo at Epping on August 25 before being prevented by some residents. The Australian Kangaroo Protection Association emphasizes that they represent all species of kangaroos and marsupials with the goal of protecting them from the risk of being hurt, hunted, orphaned and extinct.

The number of kangaroo is skyrocketing from 27 million in 2010 to 45 million in 2016, according to BBC News. The number of kangaroo is nearly double that of Australia's population, adversely affecting the country's ecosystem. Ecological experiments show serious consequences that occur when the number of kangaroo is too much.

Many Australian states have set rules and targets for kangaroo humanitarian slaughter, although there is little need to eat this animal. Kangaroo is considered Australia's national symbol, so only a few curious visitors want to taste this animal's meat.
