Electric saw made from shark teeth: 'Super sharp' machine

A group of researchers combined the teeth of different types of sharks to create an electric saw called "Jawzall" , the sharp machine used to slice fish.

Sharks are an animal known for their teeth that function as a deadly flesh-cutting machine for any animal outside the ocean. With just one bite from that "pearl-like" tooth, you will easily tear a large mark on your body, even if the bite is cut off immediately. However, how big is the danger of that teeth, how to measure the level of death they bring?

To learn about the danger, the strength of shark teeth, a team of researchers including Professor Adam P.Summers from Washington's Friday Harbor University Laboratory and Cornell University student Katherine Corn and Stacy Farina has created a saw that uses push plungers made from a series of shark teeth.

The fear of shark teeth is that when they bite their prey, not only will their teeth sink into the opponent's flesh, but when they shake their heads, the sharp edge of the teeth will also effectively cut the flesh.

For more results of shark teeth experiments, the team combined a series of teeth from different shark species such as tiger shark, sandbar shark, and silky shark (silky shark) and a sixgill shark into a tool called "Jawzall" - the death of salmon.

Through research, they found that the tiger shark's teeth were the most scary, they broke the spine of the salmon in just six cuts. Food of tiger sharks are often very hard-faced species such as sea turtles, crustaceans . so their teeth are dubbed the blade of death.

However, a special thing that the team discovered was that despite the sharpness, shark teeth were worn out very quickly, which was the premise for this group to hypothesize that sharks have His ability to recover teeth somehow somehow adapts to regular hunting conditions.

Thanks to this experiment, it is hoped that in the future researchers will be able to drill down and create "super sharp" machines from shark teeth to serve in life and industry.
