It took 7 years to hunt, Bernie Campbell was from Oxton, Merseyside - he found a rare catfish that was nearly 2.5m long. Of course catching the fish dubbed this cute monster is not easy. The 54-year-old man took 30 minutes to overpower it.
Both Mr. Campbell and his son Gary were surprised when the newly caught catfish was nearly 5kg heavier than the previous record of the largest fish. They even needed special fishing rods and super strong fishing lines to pull it ashore. After being taken to the bank and weighed carefully, the giant catfish was released back into the river.
The incident happened when the Campbells were halfway through the week on a week-long holiday on the Ebro, near Barcelona - Spain.

The albino catfish is large in size but completely harmless
'For the past 7 years, I have been constantly making fishing trips to Spain to find catfish but I have not succeeded. These beautiful albino species are always hiding from me. However, this time luck came. Unbelievable!' - Mr. Campbell said.
The world's largest albino catfish record was set up last year by another British named Phil Hilton after he caught a catfish weighing nearly 90kg.
